College Basketball Rankings, Jan. 30: Syracuse Rises To No. 2 In ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll

The Syracuse Orange men's basketball team rose in this week's college basketball rankings after bouncing back from its only loss of the season with two consecutive victories.

Syracuse climbed from No. 4 to No. 2 in the latest ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll after defeating Cincinnati and West Virginia this week. Both victories came without normal starting center Fab Melo, who is reportedly attempting to work out an undisclosed academic issue.

The Orange leapfrogged Missouri and Ohio St. in the rankings. Missouri lost at Oklahoma St. this week, while Ohio St. steamrolled Penn St. and Michigan.

Syracuse's schedule resumes Saturday, Feb. 4 against St. John's.
