USF Vs. Rutgers Final Score: Eli Carter Nets 23 But Scarlet Knights Fall In Final Seconds, 67-65

Freshman guard Anthony Collins netted only seven points Sunday, but his final three that game with 12:7 second remaining were big, as the University of South Florida edged Rutgers University, 67-65, in a Big East Conference game at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, FL.

Trailing 65-54 with 27 second to go, Collins took an inbound pass and went coast-to-coast to convert a layup while getting fouled. After Collins knocked down a free thrown to give the Bulls (8-7) a 3-point lead and a Scarlet Knights timeout, Rutgers freshman guard Eli Carter missed a game-winning jumper as time expired.

Carter finished the game with a game-best 23 points, while freshman guard Myles Mack came off the bench to added 14 points. Sophomore center Gilvydas Biruta added freshman forward Derrick Randall each added 10 points for Rutgers, which trailed 31-22 at halftime.
