That actually turned out to be a good thing for Yankee fans as Boston also lost, knocking the Red Sox out of the playoffs in the biggest September collapse ever in terms of the size of a lead lost. Boston led the Rays by nine games at the beginning of September.

Mets' Jose Reyes Wins NL Batting Title Over Ryan Braun: Reyes finished at .337 to Braun's .332. Yes, there is distate over Reyes' decision to leave the game after a first-inning bunt single, but he still won the Mets first-ever batting title. Too bad it was likely the final thing he will do as a Met.
