Today is, as I am certain you are aware, the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. that took place Sept, 11, 2001. I am certain that the day has special meaning to many of you, especially those of you who lost loved ones in New York City that day, were fortunate enough to have loved ones escape the towers, or were in the city that day to witness a site that had never before been seen on American soil.
There will be special tributes held during today's NFL game at MetLife Stadium between the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys, and in Washington, D.C. where the New York Giants open the season against the Washington Redskins.
In other stories that will be attached to this StoryStream SB Nation New York contributors share their memories of that day. At SBNation.com a variety of writers will also be sharing their memories.
