Red Bulls Vs. Whitecaps Preview

See SB Nation's Once A Metro for complete Red Bulls discussion and analysis.

After three weeks of no New York Red Bulls soccer the Red Bulls will, once again, look to end their winless streak against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Red Bulls are not yet mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, but after an offseason aimed at bringing in big names and seeking a championship it seems as if the playoffs are out of reach. Now the Red Bulls must play for their fans.

This season was supposed to be a year where the Red Bulls distanced themselves from the rest of the talent in the MLS, but the pieces never came together. For the Whitecaps this is their inaugural season, and while they sit in last place among the whole league they hold impressive victories against Philadelphia, Chicago, and Houston.

The Red Bulls must put the rest of the season behind them and play every remaining game like it is their last. It is their duty to give the fans something to root for and their remaining home games this year must show an absolute 100 percent effort.
