Phil Hughes Battered In Yankees' 9-5 Loss To Red Sox: Well, the Yankees were hoping Phil Hughes would establish himself as the better option than A.J. Burnett for the final spot in the pitching rotation. Instead, Hughes got knocked around as Boston won, assuring that the Red Sox will end the three-game series with the Yankees in first place in the American League East.

Crisp Mets Take Out Marlins, 3-2: Good pitching always makes a team look better. Wednesday night the maligned Mets' bullpen provided it with four shutout innings as New York topped Florida.
