Several 2010 members of the Syracuse University football team are trying to make NFL rosters this preseason. Let's take a look.

Former SU running back Delone Carter was drafted in the fourth round (119th overall) by the Indianapolis Colts. In the Colts' first preseason game Carter carried six times for 29 yards, including a 16-yard run.

Linebacker Doug Hogue was a fifth-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions. He had a pass defensed in his preseason debut against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Several players who were not drafted landed opportunities as undrafted free agents. Center Ryan Bartholomew cornerback Mike Holmes is trying to make the Chicago Bears roster. Andrew Lewis, a defensive tackle, is in camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jose Cruz, a tight end, was in camp with Tampa Bay until being released on Tuesday. Cornerback Da'Mon Merkerson was with the Arizona Cardinals for a couple of days at the beginning of training camp, but was released after only two days.

Former Syracuse linebacker Keith Bulluck, an 11-year NFL veteran, is still looking for a new team after spending 2010 with the New York Giants. Bulluck had 30 tackles and two interceptions in 13 games with the Giants last season.
