Could the New York Jets turn to one of two former New York Giants for help along their decimated offensive line? We may find out in the next few days.
The Jets have reportedly lost offensive lineman Robert Turner, their primary backup lineman, to a broken leg. Turner suffered the injury during Monday’s 20-16 preseason loss to the Houston Texans.
Turner will have surgery on his broken right leg this week, according to reports.
Two former Giants, center Shaun O’Hara and guard/center Rich Seubert, are still looking for new teams after being released by the Giants at the beginning of training camp. O’Hara was limited last season due to knee and ankle injuries. Seubert played well, but suffered a knee injury near the end of the season and is not likely to be ready Week 1.
The Jets, though, seem to be in a position where they need reinforcements on the line. So, one of the two former Giants might get the call.
