Novak Djokovic (Serbia) defated Rafael Nadal (Spain) in four sets Sunday morning, 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, in the Wimbledon's men's finals at the All England Club. Djokovic wins his first Wimbledon crown and third major title overall, while Nadal failed to repeat as champion. The victory should vault Djokovic to the world's top ranking, while Nadal will more than likely slip to No. 2.
↵Djokovic controlled the match from the get-go winning the first two sets with surprising ease. Nadal rallied in the third set and seemed to earn momentum back on his side, but Djokovic had a stellar final-set to win the title. All morning, it seemed that Djokovic won every long volley and was more determined to win than Nadal, who was trying to earn his 11th major title.
↵The next tennis major tournament will be the 2011 US Open, August 29-September 11, held in Queens at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
