Morning Coffee! Good News For Mets Fans

Despite suffering through a mediocre season, the New York Mets fanbase had an exciting Wednesday. Not only did they learn that their star shortstop Jose Reyes will probably not be traded before the trade deadline, but Angel Pagan hit a walk-off, 10th inning home run to help beat the visiting Cardinals, 6-5.

Pagan's fourth homer of the season helped put the Mets in a position to sweep the Cardinals Thursday, while ESPN's Buster Olney reported before the game that, "the Mets are now 100 percent certain" that Reyes will not be delt.

Yankees 4, Rays 0: Starting pitcher Freddie Garcia tossed 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball, while outfield Curtis Granderson's two-run, first inning homer helped New York claim a victory in Tampa Bay. The Yankees have now won four of their last five games.

NFL Lockout: On Wednesday, there were reports that the NFL Lockout could be lifted by Thursday. Well, football fans are still waiting for the final decision, which may or may not come today. Regardless of when the news comes, SB Nation New York will be ready to let you know when it's official.
