NBA Lockout: League Releases 2011-'12 Schedule: On Tuesday, the NBA released the schedule for the upcoming season despite being in a lockout over the new collective bargaining agreement. If a new agreement were to be completed in time, the New York Knicks would host the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden for the season opener, Nov. 2. Who wouldn't want to watch that?

NFL Lockout: 50 Days And Counting: Over at the mothership (SB Nation's homepage), Joel Thorman reminds fans that the start of the NFL season is just 50 DAY AWAY! Now, reports have the players and owners possible reaching a new deal by Thursday. Are you getting excited yet?

Rays 3, Yankees 2: Rays starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson tossed seven strong inning, while New York made too many miscues in a close loss at Tropicana Field. Yankees had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Mets 4, Cardinals 2: Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran returned to the Mets lineup Tuesday night and helped the home team edge St. Louis. Reyes went 2-for-5 with a run scored, while Beltran went 3-for-3 with two walks, two doubles and a run scored. Both players had been out of the lineup because of injuries.
