Post positions for the 143rd running of the Belmont Stakes will be held Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. ET. The draw will be televised live on MSG Network, and streamed live from Belmontstakes.com. The Belmont, the final leg of horse racing's Triple Crown, is set for Saturday, June 11 at Belmont Park in Elmont. Post time is 6:35 p.m. (NBC).
Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom and Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford headline the field. Early odds show Animal Kingdom as a 5-2 favorite, with Shackleford at 9-2. Other horses considered contenders are Nehor (7-2), Master of Hounds (8-1) and Mucho Macho Man (8-1).
Other probable starters are Brilliant Speed, Isn't He Perfect, Monzon, Prime Cut, Ruler On Ice, Santiva and Stay Thirsty. Harlan's Hello is listed as possible.
