Morning Coffee! Plaxico Burress A Free Man Edition

Good morning, New York/New Jersey sports fans! I hope you're enjoying your cup o' joe this morning as we take our first look at the regional sports scene.

Plaxico Burress Freed: Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress will become a free man this morning. Attention has already turned to what NFL team he will resume his career with. Let's hope Plax is a better man coming out of prison than he was going in.

2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament: St. John's, Seton Hall Eliminated: All three regional schools were ousted from the NCAA Baseball Tournament this weekend. I suppose that was to be expected since college baseball is not exactly synonymous with the New York/New Jersey area.

Yankees End West-Coast Swing With 5-3 Victory Over Angels: Now the Yankees head home for a 10-game home stand, and with Derek Jeter just 14 hits away from 3,000 all eyes will be on the New York shortstop.

Dickey Brilliant in 6-4 Win Over Braves But Bullpen Makes It Interesting In 9th: The Mets will take the victory, of course, but I'm sure they would have enjoyed it more without Atlanta's three-run ninth inning.

Belmont Stakes 2011: Shackleford, Animal Kingdom Appear Set To Duel: SB Nation New York will have all the race coverage you need as Saturday's Belmont Stakes approaches.
