2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament Scores And Results: Texas A&M Defeats Seton Hall, 6-3

Behind Ross Stripling's compete game and 14 hits the Texas A&M Aggies beat the Seton Hall Pirates, 6-3, in a NCAA Baseball Tournament contest at Olsen Field in College Station, TX. The loss places the Pirates in the losers bracket of the double-elimination tournament where they will face Arizona Sunday at 1:35 p.m. If Seton Hall wins they will again play the top-seeded Aggies in the Regional Finals. A&M will need to lose twice to be eliminated.

The game was tied 3-3 heading to the top of the sixth inning, but the Aggies scored two runs to take a 5-3 lead. Texas A&M added a run in the seventh to make it 6-3, a lead that Pirates couldn't overcome. In the final four innings, Stripling held Seton Hall hittless and allowed just one batter reach base. In nine innings of work Stripling allowed just one earned run, four hits and struck out five batters. Losing pitcher Joe Dirocco tossed six innings, while allowing five earned runs on nine hits.

Texas A&M's Krey Bratsen went 2-for-5 including three runs scored, while teammate Jacob House went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run. Sean Gusrang, Dale Anderson, Giuseppe Papaccio and Frank Esposito each had a hit for Seton Hall, who beat Arizona, 2-0, on Friday.
