Now that we are counting down the minutes until the 2011 NBA Draft, it's time to take a look at the final Mock Draft predictions from around the web. Almost everyone covering this draft -- myself included -- sees this first round as being one of the most difficult to project after the first two picks.
Assuming that the New Jersey Nets do not move up in the first round -- not a good assumption at this point -- here are the players projected to get the call from GM Billy King on Thursday night.
Chad Ford, ESPN: Reggie Jackson, PG, Boston College
New York Daily News: Kyle Singler, SF, Duke
New York Post: Nolan Smith, PG, Duke
NBADraft.net: Davis Bertans, SF, Latvia
DraftExpress.com: Chandler Parsons, SF, Florida
SBNation: Jimmy Butler, SF, Marquette
HoopsHype: Davis Bertans, SF, Latvia
NESN: Tyler Honeycutt, SF, UCLA
There are a few names that didn't make the final cut despite being connected with the Nets from the beginning of the draft process. Richmond's Justin Harper and Georgia Tech's Iman Shumpert are the two that jump out the most. In Shumpert's case, it has more to do with his rising stock. If King has decided they want Shumpert in his backcourt, he's going to need to trade up to get him.
