↵On the men's side Roger Federer faces Mikhail Kukushkin, world No. 2 No. 2 Novak Djokovic meets Jeremy Chardy, Andy Roddick (seeded eighth) takes on Andreas Beck and John Isner and Nicolas Mahut meet in a rematch of their legendary 11-hour, five-minute match, the longest in tennis history. That match stretched over three days before Isner won 70-68 in the fifth set.
↵On the women's side Serena Williams (seeded seventh) meets Aravane Rezai, world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki plays against Arantxa Parra and Maria Sharapova (seeded fifth) faces Anna Chakvetadze.
