Good morning New York sports fans! The 143rd running of the Belmont Stakes takes place Saturday evening (6:23 p.m. on NBC) and features a duel between the Kentucky Derby winner, Animal Kingdom, and Preakness Stakes champion, Shackelford. Yankees 11, Indians 7: Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson each homered as the New York Yankees snapped a three-game losing streak Friday. Shortstop Derek Jeter hit a double in the sixth inning and moves within just nine hits of 3,000.

Mets 8, Pirates 1: Rookie pitcher Dillion Gee was brilliant again Friday night for New York, which moves within a game of .500. Gee is now 7-0 on the season after pitching eight innings, allowing eight hits and an earned run while striking out five.
