Morning Coffee! Rough Day, And Night, For Yankees

Good morning, New York/New Jersey sports fans! Apologies to New York Yankees fans for the cheerful greeting -- I know you are in a foul mood this morning.

Yankees Swept By Red Sox Again: Things were going swimmingly for the Yankees Thursday night through six innings. New York had a lead, CC Sabathia had finally drilled David Ortiz with a pitch and then, well, and then the roof caved in. Boston rallied for an 8-3 victory, its second straight three-game sweep at Yankee Stadium. Then, of course, there was the bad news about Joba Chamberlain being lost for the season with a torn elbow ligament.

Belmont Stakes 2011: Animal Kingdom 2-1 Morning Line Favorite: The Belmont Stakes will be held Saturday. SB Nation New York looks at what the post positions drawn by Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom and Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford will mean for the outcome.

Mets 4, Brewers 1: Niese Stellar As Mets Take Series From Brewers: Jonathan Niese pitched the Mets past Milwaukee Thursday night as the Mets won a series from the Brewers.

Rangers News: Chris Drury To Be Bought Out: The Rangers are expected to part ways with their captain, who was injured much of the 2010-2011 season.

NBA Finals, Game 5: Dallas Takes Control Of Series, Wins 112-103: The Dallas Mavericks won the game they had to win Thursday night, taking a 3-2 lead in the series. The final two games are in Miami.

Stanley Cup Finals: Boston and Vancouver are tied at 2-2 with Friday night's Game 5 being held in Vancouver. We will have to see if going home helps the Canucks slow the momentum Boston has gained from winning the last two games.
