Nnamdi Asomugha Is A Long Shot For Jets

Jason La Canfora is reporting it is "long shot" the New York Jets will pursue free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. This isn't surprising considering how high his price tag will likely be and how many other free agency concerns they have.

The Jets have a way of automatically being linked with every big name available but it would be foolish to invest so much money in one position, especially when they get Antonio Cromartie back for less money. In La Canfora's report, it is mentioned that Asomugha is more likely to end up with a NFC East team. I am sure the Redskins will be ready to dump a truckload of money at his doorstep and there has been some rumors around Philadelphia that the Eagles could pursue him as well.

If the Jets can't get Cromartie back, look for them to pursue a cheaper option than Asomugha like Ike Taylor or Jonathan Joseph.
