NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Bracket 2011: Syracuse Seeded No. 1, Cornell No. 2

A pair of Central New York men's college lacrosse teams, the Syracuse Orange and Cornell Big Red, could meet in the NCAA Championship game for the second time in three years. On Sunday, the NCAA announced its 16-team bracket, which will begin play Saturday, and the Orange earned the top seed, while the Big Red were No. 2.

If both teams win their next three games, both squad will play each other in the NCAA title game, at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, for the second time in just three seasons. In '09, SU (14-1) downed Cornell, 10-9, in overtime to win its 11th National Championship. However, earlier this season, April 12, Cornell (13-2) dominated Syracuse, 11-6, at the Carrier Dome.

The Big Red play their first-round game Saturday against visiting No. 15-seeded Hartford University (7:30 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field). On Sunday, SU will host No. 16 Siena College, 7:30 p.m., at the Carrier Dome.
