The morning after the NFL Draft every team -- unless you're the Seattle Seahawks, who are getting blasted -- has the feeling that their team did a good job. For the SB Nation New York squads, the New York Giants and Jets, each seem to have a positive outlook on what they did during the three-day event at Radio City Music Hall. (Here's Ed Valentine with the Giants recap; Joe Caporoso has the Jets recap.)
For a few local college players, Syracuse's Delone Carter and Doug Hogue, their dreams came true Saturday as each were drafted on the final day. Carter was selected in the fourth round by the Indianapolis Colts, while Hogue was taken in the fifth round by the Detroit Lions. However, Rutgers' Joe Lefeged and SU's Ryan Bartholomew surprisingly went undrafted.
↵Behind A.J. Burnett the New York Yankees earned a 5-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. With a win Sunday, the Bronx Bombers will keep their home-series winning streak alive.
↵Meanwhile in Philadelphia, Roy Halladay used a complete-game one-run outing to help the Phillies defeat the visiting New York Mets, 2-1. On Sunday, the Mets face Cliff Lee.
