NCAA Women's Tournament Title Game: Texas A&M Vs. Notre Dame

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship Game will feature an unlikely pairing tonight at Texas A&M and Notre Dame meet for the national title. Game time is 8:30 p.m. ET, and it will be televised on ESPN.

Texas A&M is in its first-ever NCAA title game. The Aggies, seeded No. 2, stunned top-seeded Stanford, 63-62, Sunday night to advance. Texas A& M is led by its first-ever All-American, Danielle Adams. Senior point guard Sydney Colson and junior guard Sydney Carter are other key players for the Aggies.

Notre Dame advanced to the title game by defeating top-seeded UConn, 72-63, in the Final Four. The second-seeded Fighting Irish are back in the title game for the first time since winning the championship in 2001.

The Fighting Irish are led by point guard Skylar Diggins.

This is only the second time in NCAA women’s basketball that two No. 2 seeds have met for the title. The only other time this occurred was 1994.
