Morning Coffee! NFL Draft Thursday Night

Good morning, New York/New Jersey sports fans! You wake up this morning sipping your morning coffee and wondering who your New York Giants or New York Jets will select in the 2011 NFL Draft. By the time you go to bed this evening you will know the answer -- provided you can stay up long enough.

The first round of the NFL's three-day draft extravanaganza is Thursday night. The Giants pick 19th, the Jets 30th. As always, the event will be held at Radio City Music Hall.

SB Nation New York has a Draft Special Section for you filled with features, analysis and commentary -- everything you need relating to the Jets and Giants.

Quick question. If you are going to the draft this evening, will you boo Commissioner Roger Goodell the first time he steps to the podium?

Wednesday was a good night for both New York baseball teams.

The New York Mets stretched their winning streak to six games with a late-inning comeback against the Washington Nationals.

The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox, 3-1. Robinson Cano provided the power with a three-run home run, Bartolo Colon provided the pitching with eight terrific innings and White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen provided the entertainment by getting tossed out of the game and then turning to Twitter to complain about it.

The New York Knicks have decided to retain veteran point guard Chauncey Billups, and appear likely to keep GM Donnie Walsh, as well. Both are good decisions. Billups is still a clutch player when he is healthy, even if he isn't the ideal pick-and-roll or push the ball up the floor Mike D'Antoni point guard.
