Morning Coffee! Knicks Need A Victory

Good morning, New York/New Jersey sports fans! Let's get right to our first look at the regional sports scene.

Today is really all about the New York Knicks. Can they win their first NBA playoff game in 10 years Friday night at Madison Square Garden? They will need to in order to have a realistic chance in their series against Boston, in which they trail 2-0.

↵

There are plenty of other questions for New York. Will Amare Stoudemire play? What about Chauncey Billups? Can Carmelo Anthony have another monster game, like his 42-point effort in Game 2? Can the Knicks figure out a way to execute in the closing minutes?

We will just have to wait and see to find out the answers.

MLB: The New York Yankees are in Baltimore Friday night to begin a weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles. The New York Mets host the Arizona Diamondbacks a night after defeating the Houston Astros for only their second home victory of the season.

↵

MLS: So much for the New York Red Bulls' missing offense. The Red Bulls blanked D.C. United, 4-0, Thursday night behind a pair of Thierry Henry goals. New York has now scored seven goals in its last two matches.
