NFL Schedule 2011: Jets, Giants Could Meet On 9/11

The NFL releases its schedule Tuesday night at 7 p.m. (ESPN2). We already know that the New York Giants and New York Jets will meet at some point during the 2011 season (if, of course, there is a season) and there is widespread speculation that their meeting will take place during the first Sunday of the season, which is the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Opponents for both teams have already been determined.

In addition to their six NFC East division games, the Giants will host the St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. They will face the Jets, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots in road games.

In addition to their six AFC East division games, the Jets will the Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys. They will play the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins on the road.

SB Nation New York will have more details this evening when dates and times are announced.
