Thierry Henry could be shelved again Saturday when the New York Red Bulls host the San Jose Earthquakes at Red Bull Arena (7:30 p.m., MSG). Henry is suffering from an Achilles injury. and coach Hans Backe admitted "it's a problem."
The 33-year-old French striker already missed one game on the young MLS season with a hamstring injury.
"He has a problem with the Achilles," Backe was quoted by MLSsoccer.com. "It is something that is day by day, week by week with him. It's a problem, definitely.
"We just have to take it day by day, but it's concerning, yes. It's a problem, yes, and he's getting treatment for it. But it's not a question about getting any surgery, so that's good. We'll just have to see if and when he can train this week."
- The Red Bulls reserves lost to Philadelphia, 2-1, Sunday in the re-launched MLS Reserve League. John Rooney scored for New York.
