New York Red Bulls Report: Tyler Lassiter Signed, Salou Ibrahim Waived

Here are a few New York Red Bulls notes as the team prepares for Saturday's first road game of the just-started 2011 MLS season. The Red Bulls opened the season with a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders at Red Bull Arena. Saturday the Red Bulls will face the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium at 4 p.m. ET (Radio: WADO 1280 AM).

  • The Red Bulls this week signed Tyler Lassiter, one of their two second-round selections in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. Lassiter, a 21-year-old out of North Carolina State, is a defender.
  • The Red Bulls waived forward Salou Ibrahim. After joining the Red Bulls from Vejle Boldklub in Denmark last year on April 9, Ibrahim went on to play 19 games and start in eight matches, scoring three goals.
  • When 18-year-old Juan Agudelo scored the game-winning goal last weekend in the season-opening 1-0 victory over Seattle it was the first goal of his career. Agudelo had an assist while appearing in two playoff games for the Red Bulls last season. Agudelo became the first Red Bulls Academy player to score a goal for the first team in an MLS match.

The Red Bulls will return home to face the Houston Dynamo at Red Bull Arena on April 2 at 7:30 p.m.
