NCAA Basketball Bracket Update: BYU-Florida Tied, UConn Leads San Diego St. At Halftime

Senior guard Jimmer Fredette has been limited to just 10 points on 5-of-14 shooting as the No. 3-seeded BYU Cougars and No. 2 Florida Gators are tied 36-36 at halftime of a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 contest in New Orleans, LA. The winner advances to play the winner of No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 8 Butler in the Southeast Regional finals on Saturday.

Guard Erving Walker has a game-best 14 points for Florida (28-7), who led by as much as 10 points in the first half. The Gators have shot 7-of-16 from the 3-point line, while BYU (32-4) is just 5-of-17.

Meanwhile, in the Southwest Regional semifinal in Anaheim, CA, No. 3 Connecticut led 36-27 at halftime over No. 2 San Diego St. Junior guard Kemba Walker has netted a game-best 14 points for UConn (28-9), which made 5-of-10 3-pointers in the first half. The winner of this contest will play either No. 1 Duke or No. 5 Arizona who play later tonight.

Billy White had scored seven points for the Aztecs (34-2).
