NCAA Tournament Bracket Update: Florida State Defense Keys Victory Over Notre Dame

Florida State used a stifling defense that held Notre Dame to 31.7 shooting to defeat the Irish, 71-57, and advance to the Sweet 16 in the Southwest Region of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Notre Dame, seeded No. 2 in the Southwest, trailed the 10th-seeded Seminoles by as many as 23 points in the second half.

Florida State faces VCU in a Sweet 16 matchup of two surprising teams. Kansas is the highest seed remaining in the Southwest Region that now includes three double-digit seeds and the Jayhawks, the No. 1 seed.
