Good morning, New York-area sports fans! We are getting a late cup of joe this morning, but we are finally getting started with our first look at the area sports scene.
↵NBA: The New Jersey Nets are still winless in the Deron Williams era, suffering a gut-wrenching 104-103 loss to Phoenix Monday night. A Kris Humphries tip-in at the buzzer came just a fraction of a second too late to win the game for the Nets, who have now lost all three games since the Williams trade. The New York Knicks will begin a stretch of four games in six nights tonight in Orlando against Dwight Howard and the Magic.
↵NHL: The New Jersey Devils traded Jason Arnott to the Washington Capitals just before Monday's NHL Trade Deadline. The New York Rangers got the bad news that goalkeeper Martin Biron has a broken collarbone and Chris Drury is likely out for the year following knee surgery.
↵NFL: The New York Jets are releasing four players, Damien Woody, Jason Taylor, Vernon Gholston and Kris Jenkins
