Wing Bowl Won By New Jersey Man

Chicken wings and the Super Bowl go together like ... well ... they are chicken wings and the Super Bowl. Guy things. They just go together.

So, it figures there would be a thing called the Wing Bowl held as part of the run-up to the Super Bowl. In a world where competitive eating is a sport I don't know why I didn't know such a thing existed. But it does, and I know now.

This year's Wing Bowl champion is from New Jersey. Jon 'Super' Squibb of Berlin, N.J. won the event today for the third consecutive year, polishing off a record 255 wings in just 30 minutes. He apparently won by one wing.

Best thing about this from our perspective here at SB Nation New York? The event is held in Philadelphia, and ecstatic that someone from our neck of the woods holds the crown. Besides, why is the land of the Philly Cheesesteak holding a Wing Bowl?

Finally, if anybody knows good old 'Super' Squibb, put him in touch. I love wings, but I have to know how a person can eat 255 of 'em in one sitting. I can't eat that many in a month.
