Good morning, New York sports fans! Let's take our first look at today's local sports scene.

  • Today is the 2011 National Signing Day for college football programs. Yep, the day pimply-faced high school football players let coaches across the country know if all their begging and pleading has worked, and might help keep them employed. SB Nation New York has looks at what the day could mean for both Syracuse and Rutgers. We will more later today.

  • Former New York Jets running back Curtis Martin find out Saturday if he will be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Tuesday, Martin spoke about the possibility during a conference call.

  • All three local hockey squads were back in action Tuesday night. The New York Rangers lost to Pittsburgh in a shootout, the New Jersey Devils defeated Ottawa, 2-1, and the New York Islanders defeated Atlanta, 4-1.
