(Sports Network) -- The 10th-ranked Connecticut Huskies finish up a brief two-game road trip this evening, as the take on the St. John's Red Storm in Big East action from Madison Square Garden.
Jim Calhoun's Huskies opened up the first half of the road swing with a heart-pumping 61-59 victory at Seton Hall over the weekend. With the win, UConn moved to 6-4 in conference play heading down the homestretch.
Steve Lavin's Red Storm are just a game back in the conference standings at 5-5. St. John's posted its biggest win in recent memory on January 26th against defending national champion Duke (93-78) and followed that with a narrow win over Rutgers (58-56). However, the team landed in the loss column this past weekend, dropping a 66-59 decision at UCLA.
This marks the 61st all-time meeting between these two teams. St. John's holds a 33-27 series advantage, but UConn have closed the gap with wins in nine of the last 10 meetings. However, St. John's won the most recent meeting, 73-51 in last year's Big East Tournament.

The St. John's basketball schedule features the Red Storm at the Cincinnati Bearcats on Sunday (noon). Next week, The Johnnies travel to the Marquette Golden Eagles Tuesday night (9 p.m.), then host the No. 4 Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday (noon).
