The New York Jets will host one of the eight NFL Regional Scouting combines that the league will hold to supplement the annual Scouting Combine held in Indianapolis each year prior to the NFL Draft. The Jets will host their event Feb. 25th at their Atlantic Health Jets Training Facility in New Jersey.
NFL Regional Combines are conducted specifically for the following players:
- Players eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft but not attending the National Scouting Combine
- Players with college playing experience who want to gauge their pro potential
- Players with some pro playing experience, but who have been out of the game for a period of time
"The NFL Regional Combines program provides players - who may not have had the chance before - the opportunity to work out for NFL personnel executives," says NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Ray Anderson. "It allows all 32 clubs a chance to further evaluate future prospects."
Players who attend an NFL Regional Combine may be invited to attend the NFL Super Regional Combine which will be held at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. on March 30-31, 2012.
