Sophomore guard Dion Waiters has netted a game-best eight points off the bench for the Syracuse University men's basketball program, which has taken a 31-18 halftime lead over Marshall University in a non-conference game at the Carrier Dome. Waiters scored all of his points during a 22-6 run for the Orange (8-0), ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll, who took a 28-12 advantage with 5:41 to play in the half.
The Thundering Herd (5-1) used a small 6-0 to cut SU's margin to 28-18 with 3:01 to play, but a 3-ball by junior forward James Southerland pushed the lead back to 13 points.
Sophomore guard Brandon Triche added six points and three rebounds for SU, which forced the Thundering Herd (5-1) to turnover the ball 12 times.
