Seton Hall Vs. Mercer Halftime Score: Herb Pope's Nine Points Helps Pirates Take 31-29 Halftime Lead Over Bears

The Seton Hall Pirates (8-1) host the Mercer Bears (7-1) Sunday at the Prudential Center. The Pirates are searching for their sixth straight victory and trying to remain unbeaten at home.

Senior forward Herb Pope has tallied game-best nine points and collected seven rebounds to help the Seton Hall University men's basketball program earn a 31-29 halftime lead over Mercer University in a non-conference game at the Prudential Center, Newark, NJ. Senior guard Jordan Theodore and Fuquan Edwin each have five points for the Pirates (8-1), who led by as much as 19-6 with 8:39 to go in the first half. Seton Hall is currently in the middle of a five-game winning streak and is 6-0 at home.

However, the Bears used a 26-23 17-7 run, which included eight points from senior forward Justin Cecil, to trim Seton Hall's lead to just 26-23 with 2:23 remaining. Mercer trimmed the margin to just two points after Jakob Gollon converted a layup with about 10 seconds remaining. Sophomore forward Bud Thomas finished the half with a team-best eight points for Mercer.
