Donovan McNabb: Release By Minnesota The End Of The Road? Probably Not

Has former Syracuse University star Donovan McNabb reached the end of the NFL road? The Minnesota Vikings released the veteran quarterback on Thursday, ending yet another disappointing turn in the one-time star's career.

The six-time Pro Bowler has now been given up on by the Philadelphia Eagles, Wahsington Redskins and the Vikings since the end of the 2009 season.

Still, there are teams with quarterback needs as the season enters its final phase. The Chicago Bears are 7-4 and trying to stay in the NFC playoff race despite losing Jay Cutler for the season. The Bears turned last week to the inexperienced Caleb Hanie, so Chicago might be a destination.

NFL.com also raised the possibility that McNabb could land with the Houston Texans. The AFC South-leading Texans (8-3) have lost both starter Matt Schaub and backup Matt Leinart for the season and have signed Kellen Clemens and Jake Delhomme in the past two weeks.

McNabb could be looked at as a better option, despite his struggles over the past two seasons. So, the final chapter in the former SU star's career may not yet have been written.
