Here is this week's look at Fantasy Football Start 'Em/Sti 'Em Projections for players on the New York Giants roster. Of particular interest this week might be the status of running back Ahmad Bradshaw. As always, we will use projections from numberFire to supplement our analysis.
START
Eli Manning (QB)
numberFire Projection: 21.10 completions, 247.98 yards, 1.70 TDs, 1.12 INTs, 15.47 Fantasy Points
Analysis: Unless you have Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees on your Fantasy roster you should be playing Manning. He is putting up huge numbers.
Victor Cruz (WR)
numberFire Projection: 5.07 catches, 72.56 yards, 0.46 TDs, 10.15 Fantasy Points
Analysis: I'm not buying that he has surpassed Hakeem Nicks, but he has to be played if you have him.
Hakeem Nicks (WR)
numberFire Projection: 4.38 receptions, 53.43 yards, 0.42 TDs, 9.02 Fantasy Points
Analysis: Play the man. He has a terrific quarterback throwing to him and he is one of the best receivers in the league.
Jake Ballard (TE)
numberFire Projection: 3.16 receptions, 35.37 yards, 0.34 TDs, 5.59 Fantasy Points
SIT
Ahmad Bradshaw (RB)
numberFire Projection: No projection
Analysis: Bradshaw says he is "planning to play" after missing the Giants last four games with a cracked bone in his foot. How much and how well is anyone's guess. Add in the fact that the Giants have the league's worst rushing attack simply because they can't run block and you have to pass on playing Bradshaw.
Brandon Jacobs (RB)
numberFire Projection: 10.96 carries, 45.06 yards, 0.18 TDs, 1.76 receptions, 13.71 yards, 0.05 TDs, 7.18 Fantasy Points
Analysis: Why on earth would you play Jacobs at this point? These projections show him averaging more than four yards per carry, but for the season he is averaging a measly 3.1. There have to be better choices.
Mario Manningham (WR)
numberFire Projection: 2.56 receptions, 43.07 yards, 0.30 TDs, 6.20 Fantasy Points
Analysis: He did not play last wee with a knee injury, and has been surpassed by Cruz as the Giants No. 2 receiver. Still a play-maker, I'm just not sure how many opportunities he will get this week.
