Rutgers Running Back Savon Huggins To Miss The Remainder Of The Regular Season

Rutgers running back Savon Huggins will miss the final the final three games of the regular season with a right-knee injury, according to a report Monday from ESPN New York. The freshman initially sustained the injury this past Saturday in Rutgers' win over South Florida and could possibly be available to play in a bowl game now that the 6-3 Scarlet Knights are eligible for the postseason.

"Just being conservative, I don't think he'll be able to play in the next three weeks," Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano said.

After coming to Rutgers as perhaps the most highly regarded recruit in program history, Huggins has been used mostly as a backup this season. He has accumulated 146 yards on 56 carries and scored five touchdowns for the Scarlet Knights.
