New York City Marathon 2011: Weather Forecast, Road Closures And TV Schedule

The 2011 ING New York City Marathon is set for its 42nd running Sunday and if you're one of the 46,000 runners expected to attend, you're in for sunny skies and warm temperatures.

Or as meteorologist Carl Parker at Weather.com called it: "The ideal temperature for running a marathon." Here's what to expect when you hit the pavement later today:

9:40 a.m. ET (Staten Island): 46-degrees
11:00 a.m. ET (Brooklyn): 48-degrees
Noon ET (Queens): 50-degrees
1 p.m. ET (Bronx/Manhattan): 53-degrees
2 p.m. ET (Central Park): 53-degrees

In anticipation of today's marathon, the New York Department of Transportation has issued a traffic advisory and complete list of road closures throughout the five boroughs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

You can also print out a course road and runner timeline, with street-by-street estimates of when road re-openings are expected to occur. To view or download that list click here.

SB Nation's own Hart Van Santvoord has the route:

Runners weave their way through all five boroughs, crossing several bridges in the process. Starting in Staten Island, the runners cross the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn. Runners spend just over 13 miles winding their way through Brooklyn before entering Queens via the Pulaski Bridge. After a quick 2.5 miles, it's over the Queensboro Bridge and into Manhattan. The majority of the remainder of the race is spent in Manhattan, bookending a brief stint in The Bronx. The race culminates as runners make their way south on 5th Avenue, entering Central Park and crossing the finish line outside Tavern on the Green.
