Rutgers lost this past weekend to Connecticut 44-20. The loss knocked the Scarlet Knights out of the race for the Big East title and reduced the handful of teams vying for the Big East title down to three: Cincinnati, Louisville and West Virginia. Syracuse lost to Cincinnati 30-13 this weekend. The Orange are now 5-6 and will finish their season against Pittsburgh with both teams trying to become bowl eligible.
Rutgers was nearly in the Coaches' Poll last week with 54 votes but is down to just 6 votes in that poll this week. Rutgers was shutout of the AP Poll completely this week and didn't receive any votes there.
