The Dallas Cowboys kept the pressure on the New York Giants in the NFC East Sunday afternoon, defeating the Washington Redskins, 27-24, in overtime. Dallas is now 6-4 and has won three straight games. The Giants (6-3) host the Philadelphia Eagles in the Sunday Night Football matchup (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC).
Dan Bailey kicked a game-winning 39-yard field goal for the Cowboys after Washington's Graham Gano had missed a 52-yarder earlier in overtime that would have given the Redskins the victory. Washington (3-7) has now lost six straight games.
Washington forced the overtime when quarterback Rex Grossman completed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Dante Stallworth with 14 seconds left in regulation. That completed a 12-play, 89-yard drive.
The Giants can maintain a one-game lead in the division with a victory over the Eagles Sunday night. The Cowboys and Giants have not played each other yet this season, but will meet twice in the season's final; four weeks. They will play Dec. 11 in Dallas and will conclude the regular season at MetLife Stadium January 1.
