The Rutgers University men's basketball program will take its talents to South Beach Tuesday night as the Scarlet Knights travel to the University of Miami for a non-conference game at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, FL. Rutgers (1-0), led by second-year head coach Mike Rice, will be looking for its fourth win in five tries over the Hurricanes (1-0). Last year, the Scarlet Knights defeated Miami, 61-45, at the RAC.
Last Friday, Rutgers opened up its 2011-12 campaign with a 62-56 victory over Dartmouth College. Junior guard Dane Miller tallied a team-best 12 points, while as a team the Scarlet Knights shot 47.8-percent from the field.
Overall, the Hurricanes, who began its season Friday witha 69-58 victory over Tennessee Tech University, is expected to have a decent season in the talented Atlantic Coast Conference. In the preseason media polls, Miami was predicted to finish fifth in the 12-team league that features top-ranked North Carolina University.
