The New York Jets returned to work on Monday following their bye week, and head coach Rex Ryan said Monday that "guys were flying around" at practice. The Jets (4-3) face a critical game Sunday as they travel to Orchard Park to take on the 5-2 Buffalo Bills in an AFC East game. Buffalo and New England are tied atop the division with the Jets one game back.
The Jets open the week as 1.5-point underdogs. See all of this week's point spreads at SB Nation NFL Odds Page sponsored by Odds Shark.
"You have Buffalo coming in (as) one of the hottest teams in the league, tied for first in our division," Ryan said. "We have to play at their place, so you have to be excited about playing the number-one rated team in our division, them and New England.
"I think the weather does play into it some because it's really windy and if you're not used to playing in the wind, it seems like it can just howl out there. I think that's always been an issue out there, or you might get two feet of snow, or whatever. (It's) that, and they (are) just a solid football team that plays hard. Maybe that's it."
Ryan said that Isiah Trufant (hamstring), Kenrick Ellis (ankle) and Mike Devito (knee) did not practice Monday. He added that he expects DeVito and Trufant to practice later in the week, while Ellis' status is uncertain.
