The stumbling New York Jets are falling in Week 5 NFL Power Rankings, while the surging New York Giants are rising. The 2-2 Jets are No. 9, while the 3-1 Giants are No. 12 in this week's rankings from SBNation.com.

It seems odd that the Jets, off two terrible losses, are ranked higher than the Giants, who have won three straight. Anyone who has watched the games understands that the Giants have played better football than the Jets the past two weeks. Largely, though, this is a function of the wheels of change moving slowly. The Jets were as high as No. 3 in the rankings at one point, while SB Nation had the Giants at No. 18 following a Week 1 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Respect is coming grudgingly for Big Blue, as is recognition that the Jets are not playing anything like a top 10 NFL team.

The top five teams in this week's poll are: Green Bay, Baltimore, New Orleans, New England, Detroit.
