CC Sabathia of the New York Yankees and Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers meet again Monday night in Game 3 of the American League Division Series between the Yankees and Tigers. This time hopefully for more than two innings.
The two aces of their respective staffs first attempted to duel on Friday in New York, but that game was suspended by rain in the bottom of the second inning. The Yankees eventually won that suspended game on Saturday. Monday night the two meet in Detroit (8:30 p.m. ET/TBS) with the ALDS tied at 1-1. Monday night's outcome is critical for control of the best-of-five series.
"I think it's going to be a big game no matter what, whether it's Game 1 at Yankee Stadium or Game 3 in Detroit," Verlander said. "Obviously there will probably be a little bit more publicity now for Game 3 because of what occurred and all the news that encompassed it with me and CC facing off again. Either way you look at it, it's going to be a swing game."
