AP Top 25, USA Today Coaches Poll: Syracuse, Rutgers Get Votes

Syracuse University did not crack the AP Top 25 or the top 25 of the USA Today Coaches Poll, but the Orange did get some votes when the polls were released today.

Syracuse got 24 points in the AP Top 25 balloting after a 49-23 drubbing of West Virginia Saturday at the Carrier Dome. The Mountaineers, who entered the game against Syracuse ranked in the top 15 in the country, clung to the 25th spot in the poll with 64 points despite the loss to Syracuse. West Virginia is the only Big East school in the top 25 in any poll. Rutgers, which lost to Lousville, received three points in the AP balloting.

In the Coaches Poll, Syracuse received 10 points. West Virginia was 24th in that poll with 155 points. Rutgers earned two points despite the loss at Louisville.

LSU and Alabama are No. and No. 2, respectively, in both polls.
