The Rutgers University football program entered the 2011-12 season as the Big East Conference's worst program. At least, that's what the media members who vote in the preseason polls thought. However, eight weeks into the college football season the Scarlet Knights (5-1, 2-0 Big East) are on a four-game winning streak, atop of their league's standings and one win away from becoming bowl eligible.
On Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2, Rutgers will try and keep its momentum moving as it visits the University of Louisville in a Big East contest at Papa John's Cardinals Stadium. This season, both the Scarlet Knights and Cardinals (2-4, 0-1) have struggled to find any sort of consistency on offense. Big East fans can expect a low-scoring affair that possibly could be decided by a late-game field goal or special teams play -- a common theme for Rutgers this season.
Currently, the betting odds has Louisville as two-point favorites.
