New York Rangers At Dallas Stars: Avery Returns To Dallas

The New York Rangers are coming off a 2-1 overtime victory against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Dallas Stars have won two games in a row. And yet, like much like his time in Dallas, the conversation is all about Sean Avery.

It's been roughly two years since Sean Avery's "sloppy seconds" comment, which earned him an indefinite suspension and removed him from the Dallas Stars altogether. After a variety of strange and confusing roster moves, the Rangers would end up grabbing Avery off re-entry waivers.

Now this isn't the first time that the Rangers and Stars have faced off, but the last time that they did it happened in New York. A much less hostile enviornment.

Tonight they will battle it out in Dallas, and it should be a very interesting environment at American Airlines Center. Avery, who is at his best when he is throwing opponents off their game, shouldn't have a problem being effective tonight.

Still, there will be a game going on, which both teams will be looking to win. Henrik Lundqvist is expected to get the nod in goal for the Rangers. There is still no word on Ryan McDonagh playing tonight, but whispers are that he's just being evaluated by the coaching staff. Matt Gilroy has been on fire anyway, so it all works out in the end.
