New York Knicks at Atlanta Hawks: Knicks Take New Win Streak South

The Knicks storm Atlanta tonight with a two-game win streak in tow. New York will face the 29-17 Hawks just a day removed from an uplifting victory over the short-handed Heat. Wilson Chandler will miss tonight's action with a sore calf, leaving Shawne "Extra E" Williams to start in his stead. Williams's three-point prowess has lagged a bit in recent games, but his defense and rebounding against the Heat have instilled confidence in coach Mike D'Antoni. Chandler's injury is not considered serious, and he will likely play on Sunday against the Pistons.

New York, meanwhile, will look to an avenge a loss from November of this season. The day after Thanksgiving, the Knicks came out sluggishly against the Hawks, registering their only loss between two big early season win streaks. Atlanta is relatively middle-of-the-road defensively and on the glass, but their aggressive, athletic style of play could be dangerous if the Knicks withhold effort. With a close win and an overnight flight in the last 24 hours, it'll be interesting to see whether the Knicks come out with energy.
